Halloween

Halloween 2010... Our first attempt at Trick or Treating was too cute. This might go down as my favorite Halloween. Will has no idea about costumes or candy and obviously, that will all change very quickly! Eeyore, as I mentioned in an earlier post, was a borrowed costume and it is TOO precious. He never really seemed bothered by the fact that he was hot or that he had a massive donkey head on top of this own. We just hit our little block of houses with our neighbors... which was about all we could handle for the night. Will had absolutely no idea what was going on except for he was collecting things in his bag - and we love to take things in and out of any container. At one of the houses, he tried to give his own candy to our neighbor, Audra - which I guess, I should be glad he wanted to share - we then finally convinced him that he should take the candy from her... it ended with a 'high five'.

Here's our little Eeyore in action!

Annie and Owen Neal with me and Will!
Please note the chocolate on his face. We let him have one Mr. GoodBar. He 'licked' on his chocolate bar for about 20 minutes and only got down 1/4th of the way. But I think it did the trick... he was a little hyped up afterwards and barely touched his dinner.
And we tried for what might be our last family photo of 3... this is what we got!
Please note, I'm about 10 days away from baby girl showing up!

Music Together

So I've never really written about our music class before... and I'm not sure why! Will LOVES it! This week, all the kids dressed in their Halloween costumes - so us parents don't feel so bad about spending a ridiculous amount of money on an item that will be worn for about 30 minutes. Anyway, Will wasn't up for wearing his suit the entire time (you'll see why)... but the following pictures are of their 'instrument time'... Will's favorite! He gets so excited about the box of instruments being pulled out that he can hardly stand it. We also play with bells, scarves, parachutes, etc. It's such a great class... great people, great teacher... and Will loves the music. We sing it A LOT. Basically, if he's in the car, he's asking for his music to be put on. Really pretty funny!

Our friend Max, the Monkey...
And yes, Will is Eeyore this year! Costume borrowed from cousin Ridge! Here he is with friends from class, Caroline and Grace.

And this is our teacher, Ms. Kym! We love her!

Who Raised You?

Actually, I believe the correct way to say that would be, Who Reared You... but I think that sounds silly.

So... today I am 37 weeks + 1 day. I know I am huge. I know I look uncomfortable. I don't need you to bring it to my attention.

Today, a group of us went to the zoo. This was my encounter with the 65+ year old woman at the ticket window...

Old Lady: (Looks at me, looks at my stomach, looks back at my face) - You sure you're going to be okay?

Me: Uh... yeah. We're doing pretty good.

Old Lady: (takes another look at my stomach) You about to have that baby now?

Me: No, actually, I've got about 3 more weeks.

Old Lady: Is it twins?

Me: Nope.

Old Lady: Must be a big ole boy then.

Me: It's a girl.

Old Lady: (shaking her head, looks at my stomach again) Well, you take care now.

Me: Uh huh.

Meanwhile Amanda Kellum said her chest was getting hot as she was about to take the woman by the throat for me!

Who raised you??? Someone who never taught you the meaning of the word 'polite'... once you realize that you have stepped on toes, just back out graciously. Don't continue the conversation. It's rude! Not to mention that half of the people who like to comment, are women!!! Have you forgotten what it's like at the end? Come on! Besides, when has a woman EVER liked anyone to comment on how large she is? And I'm not nearly as big as I was with Will.

So, for those of you out there who like to talk to pregnant women... just keep your mouth closed. She'll be glad you stayed your distance.

First Maggie Photos!

We had an ultrasound yesterday to check out baby girl - I am 36 weeks and 4 days. Right now she measures 5 lbs 13 oz (or somewhere in that neighborhood) - which is about what Will measured around the 34 week mark. And yes, the tech did see some hair - which we then pointed to the head of hair on her brother - she laughed! We are looking pretty good. They had two things they wanted to follow up on so I'll have another ultrasound in 2 weeks... which means another chance for a sneak-peek before D-Day.

So here is the debut (sort of) of Margaret Alston Jones...

So the bottom photo is Will. And I'm throwing it in for a comparison... because I think they look a like! She definitely is going to have the same chin. Can't wait to finally see her and compare baby pictures of the two of them.

So Maggie, we'll see you on November 11 if not before!

Gentry Farms

A fun-filled morning for our little tots out at Gentry Farms. Our Fall Outing turned out to be a 90 degree day but we had a great time seeing the animals in the petting zoo, playing in the feed troughs, enjoying a hay ride and looking at the pumpkin patch. And yes... they match!

I'm wondering if I should set up a corn/wheat bin in our backyard...

On a hay ride with Daddy!

It's hot! Let's go home!

18 Months and Beach Trip - Take 3

So yes, I realize I am completely rotten for going to the beach 3 times in the past 3 months. But we've had a blast each time and Will now gives a fist pump when we talk about 'the beach'. Even though our time on the actual beach has been limited (thank goodness for pools), the weather was a little cooler this time so therefore, our length of stay in the sand was a little longer.

We went with my family this time and of course our newest addition, Harper Jane! Wes was unable to go due to work, but Will and I managed to get by... it's a tough life! Will immediately loved Harper and wanted to hang out with her as much as possible. Here he is hovering over the swing... trying his hardest not to get in with her. Also trying desperately not to touch her face too much!
So I added this picture because I cannot get over the curls. Maybe it's the salt, sand and humidity. Maybe it's the bubble formula. Who knows. Sadly he had a haircut when we got back to Nashville so we may never see this again.
And please note the bubble in the mouth. His thumb is the only finger strong enough to actually pull the trigger on the bubble gun... so he ends up pointing it directly into his face and basically eating bubbles.
We tried a photo shoot on the beach. Will had a horrible look on his face the entire time. No smiles. Guess I should be glad he sat still for as long as he did. Maybe next year! BaBa and Poppy with Will and Harper.

I know Harper... they do this to me all of the time. Get used to it!
Having a really good time on the beach...

Putting on chapstick is one of my new favorite things!

At the 18 month mark, Will weighs 26 lbs. 12 oz - 60th percentile. And I don't know the actual height (Daddy did this doc visit) but we're in the 30th percentile for that. We run everywhere. Get really excited over the Wiggles and Chica on Sprout. LOVE being outside in this cooler weather. And have lots of new words in the past couple of weeks... Gus, Thacker, off, pumpkin, Mama, Daddy, Hi, Bye-bye, No-no-no-no (which actually sounds like na-na-na-na), key, etc. And of course, he's super excited about baby Maggie joining us sometime soon!
