First Haircut

So... we finally did it. After being called a girl for like the 200th time last weekend - while wearing navy overalls - Wes and I finally broke down. The little man got his first haircut! I'm pretty sure I should have saved my $15 and done the job myself - probably would look a good bit better. But, we went for the experience. He didn't particularly care for the guy coming at him with a sharp object... but he was a big boy and he didn't get upset. His mom did though. Not really. But my eyes did tear up a bit. Not because of the haircut... but because I knew we were cutting his curls. And while it does still 'duck-tail' in the back a bit and flip on the sides... it's not the same. Sad!!!
I think maybe the haircut hit him in the car! Or maybe it was all the tiny hairs covering him! He wasn't EVEN thinking about the drape being put on him... so he was covered in hair. And there was A LOT of hair that was cut.
Here we are post cut. You judge for yourself... is it botched, or is it botched!!! There are random long hairs all over his head... that I'll have to try and clip sometime today. I keep telling myself it will grow! I went in to get him out of the crib this morning and it hit me like a ton of bricks! Oh my gosh... we actually cut his hair!!!

Will's Favorites

Just to update you on what the 'Monkey Man' has been up to these days:

Vacuuming - I canNOT vacuum without Will taking over lately. Which will be great one of these days when he actually understands the concept. For now, he just moves the handle back and forth and walks around a little bit. And I wait, and wait, and wait. Also, please keep in mind that the vacuum must be on (making noise) for his pretend cleaning... or he goes nuts!

Reading Books: Still a big favorite in our house. And while he still likes to be read to, his main focus is now pointing out the object you ask him to find. Or, giving a name to the object he is pointing to. We go over and over where the dog is on every page in "Going on a Bear Hunt" (as seen below).

Pointing to Body Parts: Actually this may one of mine and Wes's favorites as opposed to Will's. Little guy is pretty good at finding his ear. We are still hit and miss on toes, knees, belly button, head.

Diaper Duty: This is the funny one to me. He goes crazy over throwing his diapers away. He gets soooo excited about it... basically to the point of shaking and screeching! The downside is that he loves it a little too much. So, if he doesn't have a dirty diaper, he just picks up whatever he can find. We've found clothes, books, old cell phones, etc down the diaper pail.

Hats: Wes is particularly excited about this 'favorite'. Will has to be in the right mood, but he knows that he has a hat on like daddy, and he loves it! He'll go find a hat, bring it to you, let you put it on him, and then he'll point back and forth between his hat and your hat. Of course, he looks like he might be 3 in these pictures!

Rocks: Loves being outside and LOVES playing with the rocks!!!

And his momma loves it when he gets a little too hot and sweaty and the curls show up!

Feeding the Dogs: From his tray. Of course, the dogs love it. And it's showing on Gus in a major way. As many times as we go over, 'No!' 'Do not give your food to the dogs!' It doesn't seem to matter. I guess he is sharing.
